Six years is a long time to wear the same look, but especially in technology. Apple products across the nation received a major design makeover. As of last week the new iOS 7 software update was available for all Apple device users.

“I really like the new software because it’s easy to use and navigate. I definitely think it was time for Apple to update their software,” Katie Clark, Special Education major said.

Two-hundred million apple users updated their iPhones and iPads to the iOS 7 software. This includes a modern design, a variety of camera filter options, and a double tap of the home button to multitask between apps. But as for the big competition between the iPhone and Android, the choice might be harder for smart phone users. But for Jose Sanchez, the new update is just like his Android phone.

“I feel that it is, just because of the same features. It’s a lot easier for me to operate an iPhone now,” Jose Sanchez, Social Work major said.

However, others claim that Apple products are still superior.

“I believe that Apple is the leader of technology nowadays and Android is just copying Apple,” Kevin Pham, Mechanical Engineering major said.

Other major software changes are multiple voices from Siri, an iTunes radio app, and “Air Drop,” a data sharing app.
