The English department hosted professional poet John Poch.
John Poch, a poet, came to campus to share some of his wisdom with aspiring writers.
Students appreciated what Poch had to offer and were grateful for his tips.
Poch went on to share some of his ideas about his writing process.
“I force myself to write by hand, I like that pace,” Posh says. “I think it’s a part of my voice. I’m established and I don’t wanna screw that up too much. Maybe I should screw that up because my voice is horrible. But uhm it gets me to a different pace.”
Poch explained the best way to get your writing out there.
“Over the summer I got really into spoken with poetry and I would go to this open mic poetry slam in Arlington every weekend,” Arielle Martin, junior in marketing, says.
