Valentine’s Day originated from the pagan celebration of Lupercalia. According to History, more than 150 million cards and gifts are traded a year.
“I sent him a package with a little teddy bear and a card in it. And apparently he’s sending me something too,” says undecided sophomore Katie Eubank.
Just being with your significant other is enough for some people.
“He’s going to come up and visit me for the weekend. Just relax and enjoy spending time together I guess. Nothing too fancy,” says dental hygiene senior Stephanie Standlee.
A celebration of love can also be celebrated with friends.
“I’m supposed to go to Myra’s, a place in Oklahoma, with this pastor at this church, him, his wife, and my friend Andrea,” says undecided sophomore Makayla Burnham.
Some plan on going to see the new romance movie that hits Friday.
“Honestly, I really don’t know what my plans for Valentine’s Day are yet. I’m going to go watch 50 Shades of Grey, I just don’t know with who yet,” says business management freshman Nathaniel Wiggins.
