The annual Fantasy of Lights, a display not funded by university funds or tax dollars, requires donations to stay operational.
“We have 39 different families or organizations that adopt the displays that are set out on the lawn over by the Hardin administration building,” the coordinator Joey Greenwood said.
Two donation boxes are setup on both ends of the lawn for visitors to donate money to support the Fantasy of Lights.
“It’s a non-profit account so we try to break even every year. So the money that we do make we put back into the displays to refurbish those displays or paint them or clean them up,” Greenwood said.
A Fantasy of Lights 5k run will be held Dec. 20 and admission is $25, money that also supports the extensive light display.
