Both teams will play on Friday November 14th to start off the season. Both Mustang basketball teams have played an exhibition game. The women played #7 Baylor and lost 99-56. The men won over Oklahoma City Stars 112-82.
Last year both Mustang basketball teams made it to the regional tournament. For the women it was a disappointing loss to Colorado Mesa in the first round. The Lady Mustangs have been picked to finish second in the Lone Star Conference Preseason Poll. Senior forward All American Andrea Carter will lead the Lady Mustangs this season along with six other seniors.
For the men, they fell short of moving on to the Elite 8 by losing against Metro State in the regional tournament. The Mustangs have also been chosen to finish second in the LSC Preseason Poll.
