Flu season is coming from MWSU Campus Watch on Vimeo.
Flu season is around the corner, but not every student gets a shot such as those offered at the Vinson Health Center late this fall.
“I don’t,” Rystal Basten, sophomore in criminal justice, says.
Some students say they feel as though getting the flu shot only hurts them in the long run.
“The last time I got a flu shot, I ended up getting the flu and I never get the flu without the flu shot, so I haven’t gotten it.” Basten says.
Staying active and working out is important for students to healthy.
“Stay healthy, don’t get sick. if you get sick, you don’t go to class. if you don’t go to class, you don’t pass,” Mason Cain, junior in radiology tech, says.
Some students take matter into their own hands when they get sick. “If I get sick then I go to the doctor but I usually don’t get sick to much.” Basten says.
Having healthy habits is essential when dealing with others.
“I always wash my hands, especially if I’m interacting with other people,” says Basten. “I eat healthy, I work out, sleep. I just have a really good immunity.”
Some students are required to get a flu shot for class.
“We actually have to go there in like a couple of weeks because we are about to start clinicals,” Cain says.
