It is no secret water in Wichita Falls, Texas is in short supply, but MSU has taken steps to help conserve water by using a well to water athletic fields.
NCAA rules requires athletic fields to be watered to reduce the likelihood of injuries to athletes.
The wellness center also uses the well to pump 3,600 gallons of water to fill the swimming pool.

“We usually get the water, usually every two weeks, just depending on the heat. We are putting some stuff in the water to help conserve the water,” Director of Recreational Sports/Wellness Center Joey Greenwood said.
The overflow pump in the pool has been shut off, and maintenance turned off all the water in an effort to conserve as much water as possible.
