Percussion students put on a show for msu community from MWSU Campus Watch on Vimeo.
Three groups of percussion students performed for an audience of about 75 in Akin Auditorium April 10.
“Tonight is our evening of percussion and steel pans which is our once-a-semester concert for these two groups,” Alan Black, associate director of bands, said.
The three groups, Steel Bandits Pan Ensemble, Caribbean Pan Ensemble and the MSU Percussion Ensemble, played a variety of pieces including recent top hits from artists such as OneRepublic, including pieces the student performers themselves composed.
“We have the percussion ensemble that’s made up of percussion students and then we have our two steel drum bands, one is made up of percussion and band students and the other is made up completely of Caribbean students,” Black said.
