Housing officials introduces new meal plan for next semester from MWSU Campus Watch on Vimeo.
There are a few changes coming for MSU next semester, one of these changes, is the addition of a new meal plan option that will only be available for the students who live in the apartments on campus.
“This year we’re offering an additional meal plan and we’re calling it the five meal plan. So currently, any student who lives in Pierce, Killingsworth or Trigg is required to be on a 10, a 14 or a 19 meal plan, if you live in the apartments, you can also do these meal plans or you could do the commuter which is the 100 meal block or the 25 meal block. Those two block programs had to be paid for up front via credit card or check, it couldn’t be billed to your student account. So we added the five meal plan which is for people who may not need a full meal plan,” Michael Mills, Director of Housing and Dining Services, said.
This meal plan is optional, however, third floor resident assistant of Sundance Court, Rebecca Escobedo said. she thinks students could really benefit from this option. Especially, students who will live in Mustang Villiage.
“You go to school at 9 am but they don’t have another one untill 12 pm, they probably don’t have time to go back to the apartment, make something for lunch then come back. They wouldn’t have time, so having the opportunity to have this meal plan, they can go straight to the cafeteria, eat lunch, then go to class, it would all be on campus. So I fell like this would be really beneficial to all the students who are going to be living in Mustang Village next year,” Escobedo said.
Along with five meals a week, students will also get a $75 declining balance on their student account that they can use for the food court.
