Several departments on campus host Imagine Graduation every semester to help seniors fulfill graduation requirements, and to answer any questions students might have for their big day. The event is a one-stop-shop for graduation, and is a reminder to students of how far they have come. Jonathan Wright, Senior in Marketing, says he will not forget the five and a half years he has spent at MSU.
“I wouldn’t trade it, like pretty much I am who I am today right before graduating because of MSU, so without MSU in that picture I wouldn’t be me,” Wright said.
Senior Baas student, Jennifer Ralston, says that her time at MSU was well spent.
“When you walk out of a classroom at the end of a semester you feel like you learned something, you don’t feel like oh I just went through the motions I did the work, didn’t get anything out of it. Every class I have gotten something out of and that’s something that I will take with me the rest of my life no matter where I go,” Ralston says.
With every college experience there are ups and downs and wright says there will definitely be some things he will miss.
“Like pretty much I’m not going to miss the studying long hours in the library things like that, but I will miss like meeting new students every other day, every other year. Like just working as a team with some of my class in marketing major,” Wright said.
After all the courses are taken and after countless hours spent studying, Wright and Ralston say they are ready to take those final steps across the stage to graduate.
“Like I tell everybody, going through MSU, going through the process, college is a life experience, everybody should do it, but I feel like being on the verge of graduating it’s like a weight lifted off of me,” Wright said.
“I’m married, my daughters grown, but I have a grandchild, and so to work all of that in together it’s a pretty crazy life so to say that I did it and had all of the other outside influences, it’s pretty cool,” Ralston said.
