The Artist Lecture Series is kicking off the semester with a performance from famous accapella group Pentatonix. While having such a famous group perform is a success, the downside, is how quickly the tickets sold out.
Rickey Santellana, Chairman of the Artist Lecture Series said,” It’s one of those things, we have a facility that only seats a certain amount and this is our first time to experience our tickets being sold out to just the students. With our tickets, usually we have some left over that we can sell to the community, but not this event.”
One student said she didn’t even know tickets were on sale, and that there should be a more controlled way of selling tickets and letting students know when to purchase them.
“I think they should have had special times where you could go to the information desk to pick up the tickets, like from 8 am until noon or something like that,” Junior biology, Kayla Elam, said.
The committee paid the group around $27,500 to come perform on campus. The sold out show was Feb. 4 at the Akin auditorium.
