Stage Four Water Restrictions Implemented from MWSU Campus Watch on Vimeo.
On Nov. 16, Wichita Falls implemented stage four water restrictions for the first time.
A lack of rain and lower lake levels are causing a need for Wichita Falls residents to conserve as much water as possible.
Stage four restrictions include: no outdoor watering, foundations can only be watered with a soaker hose from 8 p.m. to midnight, and the city will continue to educate the community on how to conserve.
MSU students spoke about how they thought the university could help save water.
Reid Martin, a freshman business management student, said, “Try not to go wash your car as much. That’s not that important of a thing to do. Try to turn the water faucet off whenever you’re brushing your teeth. That’s an easy one.”
Tifani Ballard, a freshman in nursing, said, “Probably not water the grass as much. I mean, it’s becoming fall anyways, so it’s not like we need as much water for the grass.”
“Watering the fields, I don’t think it’s necessary. We should keep them nice, but we don’t need to water them as much as we do I think” said Martin.
“It’s a practice field; you’re going to tear it up anyways. I can understand the soccer field and what not, because they actually play on it,” said Ballard.
