Music Students Take Their Guests to Itlay for a Fundraiser from MWSU Campus Watch on Vimeo.
The music students transported 125 people to Italy last Sunday.
The 38th annual Evening in Italy fundraiser was to benefit scholarships and organizations in the music department.
Event holders categorized the tables after Italian trademarks and on every chair, there were pictures and fun facts about these landmarks.
Mello-Dee Capps, senior in music, explained the different things that happened at the event.
“We are actually going to start out in the atrium, and we’re going to have, I think, it’s mostly piano and instrumental out in the atrium. And then people are going to come in, get their food, kind of talk a little bit, then we’re going to start singing. The vast majority of it is Italian pieces, there’s a couple of it is French and German as well, but most of it is Italian just to keep with the theme,” Capps said.
Guests were also treated to some Italian food.
“We’re doing Chicken Marsala, I believe, and of course traditional cheesecake for dessert, there’s going to be a Cesar salad in there. Tea, water and beverages,” Capps said.
Based solely on the tickets sold, this event helped music students raise around $1,000.
