Zombies Take Over Downtown from MWSU Campus Watch on Vimeo.
The skies darken, the lightning struck, and all hell broke lose at the Wichita Falls farmers market on Saturday, 26th October. About 500, Living and undead Wichitans came crawling out in support of the city’s annual zombie crawl and 5k fundraiser.
Among the crawlers were wide ranges of characters, from members of the Z.W.A.T -Zombie Weaponry and Tactics – team to the Dark Knight himself, who in typical batman fashion had only a few words.
“ I have been the Joker for the last years, so I decided to change my costume,” said Kenny.
But the choosing the right costume was a bit more challenging for some.
“I had many different idea changes but I decided to do 80’s-rock-chick zombie. So that’s what you have here today. Which is basically an excuse for me to dress up like I did in high school, and just ad some gore and stuff to it,” said Michelle Sellers Burrus crawl participants.
Live bands and booths from community organization provided the entertainment, as well as, the chance to meet Irone Singleton or “T-Dog” to The Walking Dead fans. The event, now in its fourth year, will donate proceeds to the North Texas American Red Cross and also go towards downtown Wichita Falls development.
