Zombie Fever has yet to Strike on Campus from MWSU Campus Watch on Vimeo.
Halloween season is here, and the members of Kappa Delta Pi hosted a zombie crawl Friday afternoon to raise money for convocation at the end of October. Members dressed as the walking dead, ready to chase participants around the quad, but the only thing more dead than the zombies, was the event. Only three people came dressed as zombies for zombie fever.
Kelly Plorin, senior in special education, said, “We put an ad out in the Wichitan, Facebook, Instagram, we put flyers around campus.”
The event was organized to raise money for Kappa Delta Pi. The initial advertising efforts failed to bring in students, so members of KDP went on a recruiting adventure to spread the word, walking through Clark Student Center, Killingsworth Hall and outside of Pierce Hall.
Life restored itself in the quad when a soccer game ensued. KDP members looked on attempting to get the students to participate in zombie fever. Then, a newly engaged couple arrived at the fountain for a train ride experience around campus.
The evening didn’t turn out as planned, but Rayna Anderson says she now has a good zombie costume for Halloween.
“We bought a bottle of blood from Spirit and makeup from Spirit, and this dress is from Goodwill.”
The student body may not be suffering from zombie fever, but these education students have enough for everyone.
