On the morning of Sept. 24, MSU police notified students that someone had been sexually assaulted in a dorm room earlier in the same morning.
According to the crime alert, the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act requires police to notify students of certain crimes in an effort to prevent future crimes of the same nature.
The crime alert says, “Initial reports indicate the suspect knew the victim.”
Police have not released identifying information regarding the suspect or victim.
