Social Workers all together had a successful day of bingo at the Brookdale Assisted Living Facility on March 13.

“I thought they did a great job, everyone was friendly and nice to talk to. I had a lovely time,” Orma Jones from Brookdale said.

After playing multiple games of regular bingo everyone agreed to change it up and play four corners and blackout.

“I would come and play again no doubt, it gives everyone something to do and plus I have great time and win prizes,” Jones said.

There were prizes for winners like blankets, bath and body wash, nail kits, puzzles and word searches.

“I thought it went well. Everyone seemed to have a good time and I thought we had a good number of people from SWAT compared to who played from Brookdale” Mariela Portugal, social work sophomore said.

Nine people from Brookdale and 7 People from SWAT attended the bingo night.

Although they got together for bingo Portugal said she enjoyed the conversations she had more.

“I don’t think bingo was as important as talking to them, I had great conversations with a couple of them and most of them just wanted to get to talk to someone new. They even told me to come back and visit,” Portugal said.
