4:03 p.m. The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for Wichita County until 11 p.m. 3:39 p.m. Patrick Coggins, chief of police, was part of the decision-making process to close campus. He said since campus "rush hour" is from around 4:30-6 p.m. when students are leaving campus or on their way for night classes, administration and the police department wanted to be proactive in the decision to shut campus down.
