Come throw a pie at Delta Phi

Omega Delta Phi and the University Programming Board are giving people the opportunity to unleash the beast before spring break with Pi Day, an opportunity to splat a member of ODPhi with a pie, March 14.

Pi Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant π. Pi Day is observed on March 14 since 3, 1, and 4 are the first three significant digits of π. Celebrations normally contain a pie eating contest.

“This is the best thing ever! I love smushing pies on people’s faces, especially guys haha,” said Chidera Obasi, accounting freshman.

One pie is $1, and two pies are $5. The money will be going toward the funding for ODPhi. The more people who come out and support by buying pies, the more money they receive. The more money they receive, the less money they have to pay out of pocket.

“I’m taking out about $20 for this event. I will be trying to pie every single one of them,” said Brittany White, undecided freshman. “I might even get too carried away and start trying to throw them at people for fun. They probably won’t like that though so let me not. A pie fight with everybody who comes out would be totally fun.”
