RELATED: University relies on donors for funding
When Howard Farrell, MSU vice president of university advancement and public affairs, announced his retirement in February, University President Suzanne Shipley began a national search for his successor. Two finalists — Russell Gibbs and Tony Vidmar — came to campus in early May to visit with campus officials, faculty and staff.
And on May 25, MSU announced that Vidmar would be the next vice president for advancement, charged with a $70 million endowment and developing a long-range capital campaign.
