People Respecting Identity Diversity for Everyone will host a drag show May 6, at 7 p.m. in CSC Comanche.
Christopher Cruz, freshman in theater and PRIDE member, said this is their first year putting on events, so they really wanted to end the year with something fun.
“We wanted to plan something big for the end of the year, so we all decided that we would host a drag show,” Cruz said.
The show will include a lip-sync battle for any interested students.
“Anyone can sign up, even if they don’t want to dress up,” Cruz said.
Admission to the show cost $1 at the door, and a prize will be given to the best performer of the night.
“We’re giving away a T-shirt and a $20 gift card to whoever has the best performance,” Cruz said.
Fliers posted around the student center have advertised the show.
“They should use Twitter or something to get the word out instead,” Kendall Newby, junior in nursing, said. “No one really reads the fliers around the student center.”
PRIDE members are hoping for a good turnout for the show.
“We just want everyone at this school to feel included,” Cruz said.
