The men’s soccer team set the tone early in the game Friday night against Southwestern Christian University when forward Len Smith scored off a cross from the left wing sent in by midfielder Ben Clarvis within the first 10 seconds of the whistle being blown.
The mustangs dominated in possession over the eagles with clean passes and runs.
In the 20 minute, forward Albert Rodriguez assisted Smith in his second goal with a cross from the center of the box.
MSU led SCU 2-0 at the end of the first half which seemed to be the end of the game at that point.
In the second half, Rodriguez scored off the top of the box in the 61 minute.
Chase Robertson took a free kick outside of the box in the 72 minute and scored to bring MSU to their final score of 4-0.
The mustangs will play Texas A&M International 5 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Dust Devil Soccer Field.
