Jesse Rogers has been president of Midwestern State University since 2001, but his history at the university extends well past that—by 34 years.
Upon earning his doctorate from Texas Christian University, Rogers immediately came to MSU in 1967 as a professor of chemistry and physics, and he’s been here ever since.
In nearly half-a-century at the university, Rogers has witnessed more of Midwestern State’s history than anyone, from pivotal decisions that changed the course of the university to Rogers nearly blowing up his chemistry class.
We wanted to collect and share Rogers’ unique and often personal stories, recorded here for the first time.
So enjoy Presidential Ponderings: A Few Minutes With Jesse Rogers, as we look back in time through the eyes of one of the university’s most prolific figures.
