Students can begin voting for the homecoming court Oct. 16 in the Student Government Association office or online.
“Students should vote, so they can voice their opinion and take part in the tradition and pride at our school,” Taylor Courtney, radiology junior and head of the homecoming court, said.
The homecoming courts consist of not only a senior queen and king, but a junior princess and prince, sophomore duchess and duke, and freshman lady and lord.
“This year there are four men and women in each category, except the junior prince, for the homecoming court nominee. Only classified senior students are OK to be a candidate for homecoming queen and king,” Courtney, said
Courtney said the queen and king should be someone who is social, caring, and takes pride in school and gives back to the city.
Country also said students should represent themselves as someone who is willing to help others when it isn’t asked for. Students should want to make an impact on others lives everyday and be remembered as a role model.
The homecoming court, queen, and king will be announced Oct. 25 at halftime of the football game against Texas A&M Commerce.
