Featuring the widest assortment of craft beers in town, Back Porch Draft House attracts anyone looking for a sports bar atmosphere and fresh burgers and sandwiches.
As soon as my friends and I stepped foot in the restaurant, the hospitality we received was great.
With the Giants playing the Lions, the place looked packed, but they sat us down right away in the bar, right by the windows, setting a relaxing ambiance with natural lighting.
The TVs were pretty loud so everyone could hear the game.
After being seated we started looking through the menus for drinks. While looking in the menu, I noticed they have a recommended beer next to each of the entrees, a great feature.
We had a waitress-in-training who did extremely well, keeping our drink glasses full and providing timely service.
The generous portion of The Real Deal BBQ Chicken Nachos were the best nachos I’ve had in a long time. The combination of homemade salsa, barbecue chicken and queso was excellent. Even the chips were made in house.
After the waitress came back and took our orders, one of my friends ordered a beer but was unsure of what to get. With 24 beers on tap, the waitress brought her a couple samples in shot glasses, a great show of customer service. However, the servers were not fully trained on what beers go best with what entries.
While looking around, I found a flyer advertising $1 off of draft beers on Thursdays with a college ID.
While we were still nibbling on the nachos, our food arrived. Freshly ground beef on fresh buns were the highlight of the BBQ and Swiss burger which was nothing short of outstanding. The caramelized onions and BBQ sauce were a perfect combo for enjoying the juicy burger.
I made it through the french fries and a bowl of garlic-butter mashed potatoes. All outstanding. At the end, I had enough left over for a small lunch the next day.
Another friend at my table ordered the Riley on Fire burger. The Riley sauce was sweet at first then packed a punch of spice that will leave your tongue begging for relief.
Total price of $14, tip included. Not bad for a burger and a beer.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys sitting down to a cold beer and a great burger. And for those who don’t appreciate craft beers, they still have enough Budweiser to go around.

Really enjoying all the restaurant reviews you’ve been posting. For the places I have tried, your reviews have been spot on. And for the restaurants I haven’t, I always trust your opinion. I appreciate your work!
