The Celebration of Scholarships gives 103 undergraduate students, graduate students and faculty member’s an opportunity to showcase their research and creative projects on April 25 in the Clark Student Center Atrium from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
“Last fall only 100 people were in attendance of our forum. This semester the school and EURECA, also known as enhancing undergraduate research and creative activities, student’s have spent more time publicizing the event. We want to double the amount of people attending, aside from the 103 students and faculty members already participating,” Magaly Rincon-Zachary, biology professor and director of undergraduate research said.
“EURECA is a program that allows students to conduct research with a faculty member who acts like a mentor,” Rincon-Zachary said. “The student and their faculty mentor forge a partnership collaborating to answer a question, make music or create art.”
This will be the second semester that EURECA has created a forum for students and faculty members alike to present their research and creative projects. EURECA students are expected to attend all planned workshops, presentations, forums and faculty meetings. The students must actively engage with their mentors to execute the research project that was proposed.
