“A cop comes to the car window and the driver waits with a pounding heart. Two days before, Senate Bill 4 went into effect, changing the way local officials deal with immigration. The cop says, ‘Your taillight is out,’ and the citizen breathes a sigh of relief.” The driver is in the wrong in multiple ways then: being an illegal immigrant compounded with the fact that he’s driving with either falsified documents or no documentation in the first place. Neither of which he/she would need to worry about if the person in question actually went through the proper channels to become a citizen.

I was born and raised in Texas and will more than likely die in this great state, but sooner rather than later if all kinds of people are allowed to illegally, and I repeat *illegally*, reside within its borders. Any immigrant that decides to skip the line of people waiting their turn to *lawfully* become an American citizen is breaking the law and should be treated as such. They should not be given leniency because “muh feelz” as they are criminals. Federal criminals, in fact.
