The HTeaO Experience

March 26, 2021

HTeaO

Sweet or unsweet tea is usually the option offered when purchasing iced tea, but that’s about to change.

Imagine having over 20 different iced tea options, brewed with double-pass reverse osmosis water (I’m not sure what “double pass…water” is but doesn’t it sound fancy?).

If that got you excited, then look no further; HTeaO is in the house.

HTeaO, one of America’s fastest-growing private companies (Inc. 5000, 2018), now has 30 franchise locations nationwide. Born in Amarillo, Texas, in 2009, the ultra-premium tea, water, and related products franchise opened its doors to the Wichita Falls public on March 19.

I visited the local store on grand opening day, and the customer service, variety, and affordable pricing made the experience worth it, earning them a star rating of 4.6 out of five (see detailed list below).

The hospitality at the restaurant was fantastic. As I walked into the store, an employee was waiting at the door to greet and welcome me. I explored the layout, and it was apparent the team was happy to be there. They were all smiling and having a great time. Every employee on the floor was attentive and actively helped the customers navigate their experience. Also, the merchandise section was well organized and clean. I spent 15 – 20 minutes in the store, and the entire time, employees were constantly wiping down the countertops and tea stations, refilling the tea dispensers, and making connections with customers. This showed how much they cared about the little things. I was impressed and appreciated their attention to detail.

Once I had a good map of the restaurant, it was time to decide, and the decision was not easy. They had many options: Sweet Blueberry Green, Sweet Mint, Sweet Coconut, Sweet Georgia Peach, Pink Lemonade, and many more. In total, 22 choices were available, including unsweet versions of those named above, which meant over 400 possible combinations. I know; mind-blown. Plus, I could add fresh fruit slices to any cup I wanted. Is this tea heaven? Someone pinch me.

After long and thoughtful deliberation, I decided to purchase two cups, Sweet Georgia Peach and Sweet Mango. I was not disappointed.

My favorite part of the whole experience was the price. It was affordable. Although I visited the store during “happy hour,” I would imagine the price during regular hours won’t be too different. I purchased two large cups for $3.14, hold my tea. At that price, it’s a no-brainer. The experience was worth it.

Other things that stood out to me were the different options they had in-store. With the small price point of tea, my business-side couldn’t ignore the intelligence of offering higher price-point options. They provide tea bags to-go, gallons of freshly brewed tea, bags of ice, snacks, and merchandise. And I can’t forget the sounds of fantastic country music playing overhead.

On the other hand, the only thing I would change is the lighting, and that’s just me being nit-picky. It was dark in the store.

Apart from that, I couldn’t find much to critic. It was a wonderful experience and I look forward to going back for another cup of Sweet Georgia Peach. I may mix it with Pink Lemonade next time, who knows.

It’ll be interesting to see how the store does the next time I go back. One may argue that the experience was great because it was on grand opening day. I understand, but we have to give them credit. It’s rare to get a second chance to make a first impression, and they made a great first impression. Call it beginner’s luck, but for now, I’ll call it Tea Heaven.
