how about we cut the police station and their new trucks. hire security guards instead of police. the pay is smaller, they can use electric golf carts which will cut down on gas, and they wont be able to go to stripes at 3 am like they always do. its a small campus. the sikes center mall is bigger and they have security guards so lets do that. that will open up some room for a baseball team funding wise. i mean stripes/mcdonals/ronniesburgers/and a few other local establishments will lose money with the lack of msu police in attendance but im okay with that. i’m sick of paying for msu cops gas to cruise taft.

Contrary to popular belief, MSU police does not get a ton of funding from the school, much like Housing and Residence Life. These offices are self-sustaining. The police department funds generally come from parking fees and traffic tickets. They also have a police auction in the summer to raise money. And safety on campus is about much more than just campus. When there were safety issues at nearby apartment complexes a few years ago, the MSU police made sure that we as students were informed about what was happening in the area. I would love for MSU to have a baseball team, but I agree with what Coach Carr says; funding should not be taken from somewhere else to implement it, whether that be a different sport or another office on campus.

I am a junior in high school and i play baseball for one of the local high school teams. I would love to attend MSU and play baseball for them but they need a team first. No doubt they could put together an amazing team just with some of the 3 local high schools. Thats not including other high school students across the nation

A friend and I were just discussing this topic today… And, the fact that we would love to go to a few college baseball games.
