In the Student Government Association meeting Feb. 19, Vice President Keith Lamb presented a personal security app called MyForce, an application available for iPhone and Android markets.
“It’s basically a personal safety app,” Lamb said.
When activated, the application connects the user with local dispatchers to receive emergency assistance. The app will still pick up sounds even if the phone is not directly spoken into.
“If you get in trouble all you have to do is click the app and hit the button. It automatically connects you to campus dispatch,” Lamb said.
The application works anywhere in the continental 48 states and costs $99 a year for MSU students.
